Can I get into these schools?
Thanks to those who answered my last question. They were very eye opening. For this question, I would like to ask if I have a shot at getting into any of these schools: Syracuse, Villanova, Boston University, St. Louis University, Boston College, Suffolk, Fordham, Northeastern, Northwestern, U of CHicago (I already know that one is a long long reach) Loyola Chicago, Marquette, Michigan State, Missouri-Columbia, U of Arizona, and Northern Arizona. (I apologize for the long list, the college counselor at my school isn't very good at telling us these types of things) Here are the specs: 27 ACT score, 1870 SAT score (bad..i know), 3.84 GPA with 3 AP classes and 2 honors thus far as a junior at a top private school in San Diego. I do a ton of volunteer hours in the community. I am an editor for the school newspaper, varsity swim team member, dramam club member, and athletic awards recipient. I have received two academic achievement awards.

Retake the ACT or SAT if you can. Also, take the SAT Subject Tests in Math 2 as well as a science and a history. If you have to choose between the ACT/SAT and SAT Subject Tests, take the Subject Tests because your primary scores aren't that bad. Since you're applying to BU, UChicago, Syracuse, and NW, you will not be looked as as highly unless you have those test scores, which most of them require anyways, if not strongly recommend. I would take as many AP classes as you can your senior year (take AP Calculus and/or AP Physics if at all possible as well as any other classes you're interested in) without going crazy. It's good that you have a 3.84 GPA at a top private school; that's good. Your volunteer work will also count for a lot. Also, it would be nice if you started a club at your school for something you are genuinely interested. For example, I started an anti-genocide club at my school to raise awareness for the genocide in Darfur. Admissions officers LOVE to see students who take initiative to start their own clubs. Also, when you fill out extracurricular activity information on college applications, you can put "Founder" for your leadership positions. You just need a little bit more work on your resume and then you'll have all of those colleges sending you acceptance letters. Good Luck Senior Year!!
