Asked by Robyn 123
I'm college browsing and love the big apple but i've only been there twice so i havent looked at many colleges just the big ones (columbia and nyu). im interested in getting a students perspective on going to school in NYC and also hearing about other universities in the city that are well known and offer a broad education.

There are quite a few schools in NY and they vary a lot in the kind of experience you will have. Columbia is extremely competitive to get into, probably you cant get in there. NYU has no campus and is in the downtown. Fordham is a respected school that has the nicest campus in town.... You need to check some of the college reference guides and get a list of schools so that you can check their websites individually and see what they look like... Going to school in the city is a big challenge if you have never lived in a city before. It can be very isolating... you might be better off going to a school that is in the suburbs, then travelling to NYC on weekends when you want to have fun. Some school like Quinnipiac or Fairfield or Drew or SUNY Binghamton
