I have a 2.9-3.0 GPA and I came from a 2.0 Freshman year. I am a minority/first gen. I am a officer in NJROTC,I play varsity Tennis, anime club president,Tae-Kwon-doe,Operations officer for NJROTC, I recicived the purple heart award for outstanding leadership,I won most improved awards in math and english, lettered on Drill team, I also do athlethic team, academic team, color guard, and cross country. I will have 5 AP classes by the end of my senior year, and 7 honor classes. I made between 77-88 in all my AP/honor classes. Also I have 17 ROTC ribbions for various achivements such as community service and perfect conduct. Never recicived a write-up. I have some college credit for doing certain ROTC programs. I will be going to Leadership accademy for ROTC (basically bootcamp for future leaders), I made a 850/1600 on my SAT's and a 17 on my ACT. Also made B honor roll jurnior year. What are my chances at 1.UConn 2.Connecticut College 3.University of Rhode Island 4. UCSB 5. Centeral CT I had a 2.0 at the start of my sophmore year. I am ranked 101/216 in my class. I have a job which I worked since sophmore year. And I am from Georgia, but was a CT. resident. I was the ROTC weapons officer my jurnior year. I came from an E-2 to an O-2 in under a year because of how serious I became about school. Lowest grade made last year(sophmore year) was a 77 Lowest grade made this year (jurnior year) is a 78 What can i do to make me seem stronger ? And do you know any colleges I will be more competive at Yes you can recicive the purple heart if you are in ROTC. It's not just given to wounded vets., but also if you demostrate leadership and strong academics in high school ROTC.

Are you sure you meant to say you "received a purple heart award for outstanding leadership"? The only purple heart award I am only aware of a purple heart for those that have been wounded or killed in the line of duty. Connecticut College info: Avg. GPA 3.60 unweighted 3.94 weighted Avg. ACT 27 Considered "very difficult" to get in I would say you should be fairly confident that you could get in to one of your "moderately difficult" choices and should apply to the very difficult ones too, because you never know. Although I will say for UCs being a minority won't necessarily help you. Also, if you go to UCSB and can actually make it to class, you are a stonger person than I. That campus is right on the beach and I always wonder how many students blow classes off in nice weather. Good luck
