What college would be best for me?
I've already decided that a smaller university/college would be best for me. However, I have now come to the crossroads of what I might what to pursue in college. I know I'd like to do something science related. I am thinking possibly genetics... I got a 1720 on my SAT and a 26 on my ACT (I'm not a great standardized test taker). I've been taking as many AP courses as I possibly can and getting high 80s in them. I'm very active within my school's community (President of the band, French club, French Honor Society, and Student Leadership Council, Captain of the UIL Science Team, member of the National Honor Society, UIL Ready Writing and Literary Criticism teams.) I have a 3.8 GPA Again, which college would be best. I'm aiming for some of the private, prestigious ones (I have an interview with Rice next week). Feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

DEFINITELY improve your SAT and/or ACT scores. Sorry for being harsh but 1720 is too low. Competition is extreme these days and you would need at least 2200 to be competitive. I know a friend who got a 4.0 and was the executive president at a public school. His SAT scores were about similar to yours and despite all his credentials, was rejected to all schools except Virginia Tech. A high GPA and a low SAT would leave an impression that your school gives A's away easily. I'm sure you had to work hard for that 3.8 so don't let your standardized scores bring you down. Sorry for being harsh but college admission is competitive these days so raise your SAT! I think all other things meet the standards of prestigious colleges so raise that SAT and you'll be in Rice!
