What is it with people around here who seem to be able to figure out how to come HERE and ask a question, but they can't seem to use Google or other resources to find the far more logical place to get their answers about a specific institution: From the institution's own web site. Here's the school about which you're inquiring: Darton College 2400 Gillionville Road Albany, GA 31707-3098 United States Phone: (229) 317-6000 Web: www.darton.edu Of all the things you need to know, the FIRST is whether or not it's accredited by an agency approved by the US Department of Education (USDE) and/or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). For that, you'd need to search for the school at either or both of the following: www.chea.org/search ope.ed.gov/accreditation And, indeed, it is accredited by one of the six big regional accreditors in the US... in this case, the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), Commission on Colleges... which is very, very good. Beyond that, you wrote: "its [sic] says that there is a campus in [C]ordele[,] [G]eorgia." SEE: www.usg.edu/inst/ Only one campus is shown for Darton; and from a cursory look at Darton's web site's site map at... www.darton.edu/sindex.php ...I see no mention of additional campuses, as a category; however, by searching on that page for the text string "Cordele," I did find that there is a Cordele campus. Here is its page on the Darton site, along with information about its programs: www.darton.edu/Cordele/ Shame on the creator of the site for making that so difficult. As to the school's programs, generally, its web site is really screwed-up in that regard. Apparently whoever built it is under the misimpression that everyone wants to have multimedia presentations played to them... which is foolhardy, at best. When I go to a college web site (and I go to many daily), and I click on "Academics," I don't want to have a video played to me. I want to see a list of degrees, plain and simple. That's how most college web sites are. Darton's is not. Shame on Darton. As for nursing: If you mean becoming an RN, most states (and I assume Georgia is one) require that you get a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from a school whose BSN is acceptable to the state's nursing board as requisite to sitting for the state's nursing exam. The best resource for what BSN degrees are acceptable is the state's nursing board. You should be able to find your state's nursing board web site easily enough. Go there, and you'll not only find the list of acceptable BSN programs, but you'll also find informatioon about every single requirement to become a nurse in your state. I did not dig around on the school's site enough to even know if it offers bachelors degrees, much less a BSN, so I'll leave that to you. If it's a community college, as another answer said, then it likely only offers associates (AA or AS or AAS) degrees... none of which would likely prepare you for REGISTERED (RN) nursing; though, if your state will allow it (and only the nursing board can tell you), an AA or AS or maybe an AAS in nursing (if anyone in your state even offers one) MIGHT (and the operative word is "might") qualify one to become a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or whatever is your state's equivalent thereto. Again, consult with the nursing board! Hope that helps.
