I wholeheartedly recommend Sewanee and encourage you to visit. It is a highly regarded liberal arts university with a friendly atmosphere. It's the closest you can get to Hogwarts, I think. Sewanee is a place of intellectual and social growth with many quirky traditions, most notably the one with professors and students wearing academic gowns to class (only after earned, of course, and they come with perks). Sewanee has extremely small classes, and every class is taught by a professor instead of a TA. The professors are completely accessible outside of class and encourage interaction with them, whether it is in their office, at McClurg (the dining hall where there is no separate faculty eating area--everyone mingles), at a local coffee shop, or in some cases even at their home for dinner. They are Sewanee's greatest asset, and you will not be disappointed by them. Many of my friends at other universities never experienced this kind of interaction. Classes are difficult, but usually fun. Academic and social conduct is governed by a strict honor code and is maintained by the student body. Sewanee's campus is simply breathtaking. I've yet to find another place like it. I could go on for hours about the place, but your best bet is to visit both and then make a decision. I fell in love with Sewanee the second I stepped foot on the Mountain and would go back in a heartbeat if I could.
