Is Florida State University just a party school?
Someone please help me: I'm majorly stressing about colleges and I found Florida State. It seems perfect but I don't live near Florida so I know nothing about it's reputation. I'm above average but not genius smart... I'm looking for a challenge. Would this be a good school choice or is it a blow-off party school? FYI: I'm looking to cheer there and they have the type of squad I like so for this reason FSU is one of my top choices.

School is what you make of it. You create your own experience. Going to class and taking a active role in your education can happen at any school you choose. An excellent education does not just happen. You can party and "blow off classes" at any school you go to if that is what you are looking for........... Go where you think you will have the best fit. Personally, I think you get a more specialize experience at smaller schools. The research 1 universities have such a publish or parrish attitude....you sometimes miss the professor/student connection because you will be taught by graduate students.
