Is it hard going to college in a state that no one in your family lives?

Asked by Artist
I have family in Atlanta GA, and New Orleans, LA. But im thinking of going to college in Gainesville, Florida. Do you think this would be hard to do, since i have never been there? I could do reseach and learn about the place though.

It is only as hard as you want it to be. Generally, if you have a good outlook to life and like to mingle and make friends, you won't miss home much. If, on the other hand, if you stay secluded and keep to yourself, you will be lonely and miss home a lot. Gainesville is not too far from Atlanta or New Orleans so you can always visit for holidays. Of course, doing research on a place is very good idea too because you will get to learn what there is to do and so on so you can keep youself busy.
