Can someone double check this for me, please?

Although being female provides some challenges such as, discrimination and inequality at work and school, there are numerous benefits that come with being a woman. A benefit would be the idea that, when going on a date the male pays for the evening. This belief has helped me save money. During my senior year I did not have enough money to pay for prom; fortunately I had a date that paid for my dinner and ticket into prom. With the money I saved I was able to go to prom and purchase a dress. Another advantage with being a female would be the way they can get out of speeding tickets. If you are a woman that is nice and friendly to the officer you will get a warning, but a male will usually have to pay a fine. This happened to me when I was driving back to Georgia Southwestern State University for the spring semester. A cop pulled me over and said I was going twenty miles per hour over the speed limit. I simply said, “I’m sorry officer I must have been paying attention to the traffic and not the speedometer.” The police officer gave me a warning and told me to watch my speed. However, the same thing happened to my boyfriend while he was driving back to college after spring break. The officer said that he was going fifteen miles per hour over the speed limit and he still got a ticket. Clearly, there are some perks that come with being a female but it does not make up for the inequalities that occur.

Perhaps change Belief to tradition. (This belief has helped me save money. ) Add in “you may have better luck just getting a warning” (If you are a woman that is nice and friendly to the officer you will get a warning, but a male will usually have to pay a fine. ) Everything else looks great!
