Should I transfer from Georgia Tech to Hampton or another first tier university?

Asked by Scott
I am a transfer student who has attended Georgia Tech for my first semester in chemical engineering. I had to withdraw from o. chem 1 and physics 2 because of the extreme workload and that I was failing. Never before in my life have I struggled in my life in math and science. I attended a school whose curriculum was similar to Hampton and was getting A's in all my sciences and putting in 1/3 of the work I put here at Georgia Tech to fail them. I realize that it is better to do well at an average first tier university than to struggle at an elite school and get average or failing grades.

Whatever you choose, consider this: No matter what college you go to, you can always apply for graduate school at an elite college (if you're hot and heavy about the school's status) as long as your grades and test scores are good enough. You'll get a good undergrad education at any accredited college (I would think). Furthermore, you have a great shot at landing a good job if you are able to complete your degree in ChemE (no matter where). The most important things are to do your best and to GRADUATE in a timely fashion.
