Is it free to repeat a college course?
A coworker once told me that she took a course at our community college, failed it, and then took it again free of charge. I am currently in a summer math course at that community college (Harrisburg Area Community College), and I've already missed two of the first three classes, and I'm thinking of dropping it and taking it again in the fall. I've already missed the full refund date, but if I drop it by Tuesday, I'll get a 50% refund. Money's really tight, and I feel like it would be such a waste to drop it. Can you repeat courses for free? I'd like to take it again in the fall or next Spring, but if I'm going to have to pay for it all over again, I'd really rather just suck it up now. Does anybody know the guidelines for this? Thanks in advance.

No it's not free. If you drop out of the class within a couple of weeks then they don't charge you for taking that class. If you just fail it and have to retake it then they will make you pay again. It's just another way for them to stick it to you.
