Swarthmore vs. Haverford?
I am traveling to Philadelphia and have time to look at two colleges. I am definitely going to see the University of Pennsylvania, but I was wondering if I should also see Swarthmore or Haverford. I am interested in biology and medicine and I'm much more of a math and science student. Which college would be better for me to look at, Swarthmore or. Haverford? What are some distinguishing qualities about each? Thanks!

Tough choice! Both are outstanding liberal arts schools. Haverford offers a few more science options than does Swarthmore, and I guess I usually do think of Swarthmore as being a little more connected to the Humanities than to the physical sciences. U.S. News ranks Swarthmore a little higher - #3, compared to Haverford's #10 - but I'm not sure that is a really significant difference.
