I want to pledge Delta Sigma Theta at Howard University but I go to another university. How can I do that?
There is an active chapter at my school but I want to pledge at Howard. What options do I have?

Let me ask you this before I get into answering your question: WHY do you want to pledge at Howard? Is it because it's Alpha Chapter? Do your family members have a connection to the chapter? Do you prefer Howard's education to where you are attending now? The reason I ask is because if you have an active chapter at your campus, and you TRULY want to be a Delta, then you would pledge at your current school's chapter. It seems like there may be one of two problems with you pledging. Either A) You have a problem with my Sorors on your campus or B) You want to join my sorority for the wrong reasons. If you have such a dire need to pledge at Howard, let me say this: my Sorors at Howard are HIGHLY SELECTIVE (as they should be). My prophyte (someone who pledged me) went to Howard and tried 3 times to pledge there. She even had Past National President Dorothy Irene Height write her recommendation, and she STILL didn't get in. So I would say, unless you have connections at Howard, you would be diminishing your chances to enter our Sisterhood as a collegiate. If you really have a heart for Delta, it shouldn't matter where you cross. Whether you cross Apha Chapter or Xi Nu Chapter (Rutgers- New Brunswick, where I pledged) we ALL have the same mindset: to further the work of Delta and positively impact our communities. So before you consider pledging, I urge you to consider the foundation of your desire to join our Illustrious Sisterhood. Hope this helps you in your endeavors. But to answer your question, you CANNOT pledge a chapter that is not a part of your service area, meaning if you go to Georgetown and Howard is not a part of Georgetown's chapter, you MUST pledge at Georgetown.
