I graduated from IU Bloomington a couple of years ago and I don't recall there being any particular "athletic" dorms. There were freshman in all the dorms that were involved in various sports, but most people on the basketball and football teams (I think) usually went on to live off campus after their freshman year. If I had to guess, I would say any of the dorms on the north side of campus (Foster, McNutt, and Briscoe) because they are closer to the football and Assembly Hall.
