On the undergraduate level, US News & World Report ranks UTEP in the fourth tier of National Universities. There are only four tiers. It is described as a large urban school that is less selective than the average university. Graduate programs are often more selective and better than undergraduate programs. UTEP does have doctoral programs. IUPUI has similar rankings. It is also less selective. Northeastern, on the other hand, is a first tier school. It is more selective, and ranked 115. In terms of the education you will get, Northeastern dominates the other two. But you have to consider other factors. Costs are important. But look into what kinds of jobs you can get when you are done. The more expensive school in the short run might be the one that pays off the most.
