Is anyone a graduate student at Howard University or Jackson State?

Asked by EternalConfusion
I don't know if anyone is in their clinical pyschology Ph.D program at Howard University or Jackson State (both HBCU campuses), because I'm applying to both of them along with many other schools.....But if you are, any info would be appreciated. :) Are these universities well-reputed for their graduate level programs if you're just a graduate student in a non-psychology discipline....How are the professors, the staff, the surrounding area to live in, etc. These two schools happen to look a little bit less competitive in terms of GPA and GRE stats for their clinical psychology Ph.D program, so hence I thought why not give it a shot. Thanks.

I don't know about Howard, but Jackson State is not reputable. It is known for producing graduate students who cannot perform at the professional level. I would not recommend graduate studies at JSU. You are probably correct on JSU not being as competitive as other schools, but is that what you really want out of GRADUATE school. If you go to a school with low standards, then your degree is basically worthless. I'd reconsider.
