My name is Preston Lee Veal and I'm an ideal seventeen year old highschool student. I was born on May 5, 1990 at Natchez Regional Hospital in Natchez Mississippi. I am the youngest of five children. My parents are Eddie Darnell Veal Sr. and Jacqueline Cage-Veal. My father is a security guard at Fayette, Mississippi Correctional Facility, while my mother is a faithful home maker. She has been a very valued and lovely asset to our family. I begin my education journey at the Woodville Head Start Center at the tender age of four. I attended Kindergarten at Wilkinson County at the age of five, and continued my educational experience through the sixth grade. I received many awards in my elementary years such as Perfect Attendance, Honor Roll and Outstanding Acheivement. I finished my education in 2001-2002 school year. I attended middle school, particulary my seventh grade school year, at Wilkinson County High School in 2002-2003. The William Winans Middle School opened and gained accrediation in the community of Centreville during the summer of 2003. I attended William Winans Middle School in Centreville Mississippi during my 2004- 2005 school year. I entered there when I was in the 8th grade at the age of 13. Prior to my freshmen year at Wilkinson County High school, I enrolled in a summer program called Upward Bound. Upward Bound is a educational program designed to assist low income second generation highschool student with financial and educational needs. During my tenure at Upward I obtain vauable life skills as well as positive social skills. Thanks to the help of the Upward Bound program I was able to unlock my full educational potential. I'm currently completing my final semester at the Upward Bound program. From 2004 until the present I've been attending Wilkinson County High School. I'm currently a senior there anticipating graudating in May 23, 2008. My years at Wilkinson County High have been very intriguing and well spent. During my tenure at Wilkinson County High I have met a lot of revoultionary minds, both in the staff and the student body. One very influential teacher, as far as my educational experience, was Mrs. Joyce Norwood, my highschool English teacher. This wity and remarkable women has motivated me to work diglienty at achieving my goals. She also kept me entertained with her excellent sense of humor. My home life is very exciting. I enjoy playing basketball, swimming, doing new and interesting activites and hanging out with my family. I enjoy going to church every chance I get. I'm a member of Wilson Community Pentecostal and The First Pentecostal Church of Sanders Fork. My churches are a great community of wonderful people dedicated to the advancement of the community and the Christian faith. try to live a life that is pleasing to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. During my stay at my churches I have learned alot about the Bible as well as church customs and laws. Immediatly after high school I plan to attend Jackson State University. Jackson State is a coeducational institution located in Jackson, Mississippi JSU is supported by state legistalitve appropriations, which are supplemented by student fees and private grants. Jackson State University is the university of my choice because of its strong academic background, and rich African American heritage. While at Jackson State University I plan to major in History and minor in Music. After I graduate from Jackson State University I plan to either futher my education or acquire a teaching occupation.
