Yes, you can do this. Remember, you're not alone. Lots of your other classmates are going to be missing their families, too. Granted, some of them are going to be really excited to be somewhere new, but even they're not going to have any better idea of what they're supposed to be doing than you will (or, if they think they do, they'll change their minds about it). Eventually, you'll all settle down into a new routine and get absorbed in your classes and start participating in activities, and you'll feel more in control again. And remember, it's not like your family is going to vanish to the far side of the moon. Don't plan on going home too often, or you'll never get adjusted, but you can always keep in touch by phones and e-mail.
