What college do you recommend for an English Major?
I am currently enrolled in a community college in the northeast. My major is writing and i was just wondering if anybody knew of any good colleges i could transfer to that focus on writing.

You received good suggestions already. Let me just add this bit: Try to find someone (a writer or professor) you would like to work with. The support you receive from faculty members is much more important that the reputation of the school. Finding the best school will required some hard work on your part. You have to research and find out who you want to work with. If you cannot find professors you want to work with, choose a school that has a small student-teacher ratio. If you're going to be a writer, you'll need as much personal attention as possible. Also, in your case, your writing and publications will be way more important that the school you go to (and the grades you earn). I cannot say this enough: Find a school that will support you as an individual!!! By the way, when you're ready for your M.A., check out Penn State. The program is great, and the support you get is unmatched. Most Grad students get free tuition and a stipend in exchange for teaching a class a semester. This is an offer for Literature and Creative Writing M.A. candidates. Good luck.
