Is San Jose State University really a party school?
Asked by loismustdie09trying to narrow down a list of possible colleges for next fall, and a former student mentioned that this particular school is a bad idea because it's a "party school", and I would prefer a very academically focused university.

It's really a commuter school. This is about as far as you could get from a serious academic school. It's filled with people of all ages taking classes to try to get ahead, it's not an intellectual college experience. For that try Swarthmore.
