University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign or University of Chicago?
Asked by dewgongooU of C is supposedly the better school but i wouldn't be able to dorm there and i would have to live at home. what am i missing out on my college life if i don't dorm at a place like U of I?

I think that you should talk to the admissions office at U of Chicago and see if they can put you in touch with a current UofC student who is a commuter, like you will be. Then you can talk to them about what they feel they are missing, and gaining, by commuting. Talk to them about how they've connected to campus life. Becuase to me, that's the main difference - when you live on campus, you're thrust into campus life. You meet people, socially, your first day, hang with them after class in the rooms, etc. But as a commuter student, you'll have to work a bit harder to start those sorts of casual contacts that can lead to friendship.
