If I were to transfer to University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, would my GPA transfer with my classes?

Asked by January 20th, 2009
At the University of Illinois, if I transfer a year full of classes, will only the credits transfer, or will the grades attached to the credits transfer to? That is, if I have a GPA of 3.5 now at my current university and I transfer all my credits, will my 3.5 follow me, or will my GPA start over?

No. In all the schools I've been to, the GPA is only an accumulation of the classes you took as that particular school. Believe me, I wish it was that easy! But it isn't, your GPA starts over.
