University of Illinois Champaign Urbana Housing?

I am currently waitlisted at U of I for Biomedical Sciences/Biomedical Engineering...and i have to wait past May 1 if any open spots become available...i am just wondering since i hear housing is hard to get at U of I...do i need to pay any housing deposits...even though im not admitted yet?

I would look at it. I spent 2 years in an apartment on Springfield and it was a great location. Pretty cheap too. But in 2 years I never saw a vacant space and most of my friends had to drive in from off-campus. Definitely if you find a good spot, grab it. In the middle of winter or a monsoon rainstorm, nothing is better than knowing your warm apartment is only a block away.
